Dear AL Community,
Our week was a bit shorter than usual, but AL students grades K-8 were still engaged, taking active field trips to the Kansas City Zoo, the My Play Cafe, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the beautiful Lakeside Nature Center, and Hallmark’s Kaleidoscope. We finished up all of our puppet workshops with “What If Puppets,” and middle school students got some exercise at Skate City and a lot of historical learning at the World War I Museum. At Armour, middle school students in culinary class created their own recipes. We are currently rescheduling today’s Oak field trip to Kaleidoscope for class 3C to next week… stand by!
Next week is a full five days of school with more field trips. Keep your eye on the Cherry and Oak field trip calendars for “Swimsuit Needed” pool and spray-play days! All three campuses are having a new experience for students next week: KC Hockey will bring an “Introduction to Field Hockey” with several skills stations for students to cycle through. Please send your child in cool clothing and with a water bottle.
Summer transportation update: we are currently not accepting new riders for summer school. Please remember that non-riders are not allowed to ride home with friends using the bus. Currently bus riders also cannot change bus route to ride home with friends.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me. Bon weekend!
