Cheers to 10 Years!
We are excited (and somewhat stunned!) that the Abbey Centre will be celebrating our 10-Year Anniversary on March 31! Wow!
As a way to recognize this milestone, we are planning some promos, activities and giveaways for the week of March 25 - 31.

Fit February
For each registered or drop-in fitness class someone attends in February through the Abbey Centre, participants will be entered to win a free monthly membership.
TWO CATEGORIES:
Adult Fitness
50+ Fitness
Ballots and draw boxes will be set out in Fitness Studio 1 for Adult & 50+ participants.
Draws will take place at the end of February!

Lap Counters
Do you have a hard time remembering how many laps you've done on the running and walking track? We have the solution!
Pop by Guest Services, and we will be happy to give you a lap counter - they are simple and low-tech but get the job done every time. The best thing is, you get to keep it and use it when you come back again.

SuperKids Title Sponsor
SuperKids is returning on July 8, so save the date!
We are currently looking for a title sponsor to partner with the Town of Blackfalds to help present this wonderful event for children 5 - 12 years old.

Save More on Thrifty Thursday!
Each month, we offer cost savings on different Abbey Centre services available only on the first Thursday of the month.
Please check Facebook page, or posters around the Abbey to check out what service we are showcasing and where you can save!
Feb 1 Thrifty Thursday
Purchase a youth monthly membership and have your name entered into a draw for a chance to win a pizza party and 1 hour field house rental for the youth and 4 of their friends.
Parent/guardian must accompany youth during pizza party.
Please see Guest Services to activate membership in person or email Guest Services guestservices@blackfalds.ca to have your name entered into the draw if you activated the membership online.

Pink Shirt Day
Join us February 28, 2024 as we raise awareness about the prevention of bullying while promoting kindness and inclusion.
We are encouraging everyone to wear a Pink Shirt on February 28 to symbolize that we, the Abbey Centre, do not tolerate bullying.

Introducing Community Care
Helping People Find Their Strength
Those who would like to can now contribute to our Community Care account. Any amount is appreciated and a charitable receipt can be requested.
This account will be used to provide those who might need a little extra support with a complimentary day admission (youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian).
We want to help sprinkle kindness around! Please contact Guest Services for the entire program information.

Community Gardens Registration

Blackfalds Co-Ed Slo Pitch League

Red Cross Babysitters Course
This basic first aid and care giving course is recommended for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups and how to prevent and respond in emergencies. Registration now open.

Facility Rate Change
Please note that Bylaw 1293.23 - Schedule “C” – Community Services Facilities Fee Schedule was passed by 3rd reading at the Regular Council Meeting on Oct 24, 2023.
Therefore, some facility rental rates have been adjusted and are now in effect.
Please review the changes here.
If you have already made a facility booking for a 2024 date prior to this coming into effect, then the pricing at the time of booking remains in effect.

Child Minding Winter Hours | |
Children aged 3 months to 10 years can be dropped off to receive quality care by our friendly and professional staff.
Winter/Spring Hours (Jan 2 - June 28):
Mon - Thu | 8:30 am - 2:00 pm & 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Fri | 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
Sat, Sun & Holidays | Closed

This option gives members and guests access to the running track for the entire day for only $2!

With the purchase of a membership, or 10-punch you will be granted unlimited access to the Fitness Centre, Outdoor Aquatic Centre, Running Track, Indoor Play Space, Drop-In Fitness Classes, Registered Fitness Classes (with drop-in option) and daily (M-F) drop-in activities in the Field House.
Perks of Being an Annual Member
Annual members are eligible to register early in Town programs and classes, receive two (2) complimentary day passes upon membership activation or renewal and have the ability to place their membership on hold (certain restrictions do apply).

Field House Drop-In Schedule
Daily drop-in activities (which may include badminton, pickleball and basketball) are set up daily. See Field House Drop-In Schedule
Clothing & Clean Shoes Policy
All Fitness Centre/Track users are required to wear athletic gym apparel. No bare chests. Clothing must be free of inappropriate or offensive language/graphics.
Clean, dry shoes are required in the Fitness Centre/Track and Field House.
