PRAYER SERVICE - APRIL 21

On Sunday, April 21, from 5:15 – 6:15 PM, the Prayer Ministry Team will be hosting a time of prayer and praise in the Sanctuary. We will pray through 2 Thessalonians 1:3 together, focusing on the themes of thankfulness, faith, and love. This is an opportunity to pray as a church body; adults, youth, and children will all be together in the sanctuary in place of their usual Sunday evening activities. Childcare will be available through age four if needed.

YOUTH TALENT SHOW - APRIL 20

Join us this Saturday, April 20 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall for the third annual AVPC Really Has Talent Show, benefiting the summer youth mission trip. Be ready to enjoy a cavalcade of pure talent in the company of your church family!

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING - APRIL 21

The Session is calling a congregational meeting this Sunday, April 21, at 9:45 AM in the sanctuary. We will be voting on recommending that the presbytery dissolve the pastoral relation between AVPC and Brad Allison, effective July 1, 2024.

SENIOR BRUNCH - APRIL 21

All high school seniors are invited to a brunch at the home of Blake and Danielle Harris this Sunday, April 21 from 12:45 – 2:00 PM. 

COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE - APRIL 21

This Sunday, April 21, we are hosting a blood drive through Lifesouth Community Bloodcenters. The bus from Lifesouth will be in Altadena Park from 12:30-7:00 PM. No appointment is necessary, but you may schedule a time on the Lifesouth website.

YOUNG ADULT DINNER - APRIL 27

Join us on April 27 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the home of Layne and Amy Savoie for a time of food and fellowship!

YOUTH SUNDAY - MAY 5

We praise God for the mighty works we see him doing in the lives of our youth. Sunday, May 5, we are honoring the youth of AVPC, with both services being led by the youth. Later that afternoon, the graduating seniors will be recognized with the “Senior Guys Fellowship” in Altadena Park and a “Senior Girls Tea” at the home of Elizabeth Kanter.

URBAN HOPE SNACK DRIVE - DONATIONS DUE BY MAY 5

It is that time of year when we collect snacks to help our sister church, Urban Hope. This has been a great way for us to tangibly assist Urban Hope as they minister to families in Fairfield during the summer break from school. Please bring any individually packaged snacks and small water bottles (8 oz.). NO NUTS OR PEANUT BUTTER CRACKERS! Collection boxes will be in the Parlor and Welcome Center. The deadline to donate is May 5.

CAMP SOLID ROCK - JUNE 10 – 13

Camp Solid Rock camper registration is open! Children from K4 through 5th grade are invited to join us June 10 – 13. We invite kids in our church family to learn timeless truths of the Bible through drama, songs, stories, games, and crafts. WACK 2024: JULY 8 – 11

Registration for WACK 2024 is full. However, we are now accepting registrations for the WACK waitlist. So, please continue to register if you are interested in your child attending WACK this year. WACK (Worship Arts Camp for Kids) is for rising 2nd graders through rising 8th graders and will be held July 8-11 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This camp is designed to explore the various ways we can use our talents and passions to worship. Grab a pamphlet from the Welcome Center or Parlor, or you can follow THIS LINK to register and be added to the waitlist.

The Prayer Prompt bookmarks from the Prayer Ministry Team are now available for use. Pick up your copy from the Parlor, the Welcome Center, or by following THIS LINK. Each month, there will be a specific theme and Scripture verses for you to use in praying for the Pastoral Transition Process. The theme for the month of April is Patience.

MISSIONS NEWS

OUR MISSIONARIES OF THE WEEK are Alex and Suzanne Sarran who lead and pastor a church plant in Lyon, France. As the lead pastor, Alex preaches, teaches, leads worship, administers sacraments, leads Bible studies, disciples believers, trains new leaders, participates in outreach, and develops relationships with local leaders. Suzanne disciples women and supports the ministry by exercising hospitality, helping with music, facilitating fellowship events, and coming alongside Alex as they counsel couples.
