FAITH PROMISE FOR MISSIONS UPDATE

We have received 94 pledges equaling $306,004 toward a goal of 110 pledges and $335,000. Additional pledges are welcome. We ask that you prayerfully consider giving to Faith Promise.

MEN'S WORK DAY

Men of all ages, join us this Saturday, March 16, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM as we spruce up the church grounds, including spreading pine straw and gravel in various locations around the church buildings. Bring your gloves, shovels, and wheelbarrows!

MERCY SUNDAY - MARCH 17

The Mercy Team invites you to join us this Sunday, March 17, for Mercy Sunday. We will be hearing from a guest preacher, Dion Watts, from our sister church Urban Hope. See this month’s Saltshaker HERE for more information. See you there!

EASTER FLOWERS - SUBMIT ORDERS BY MARCH 24

If you would like to purchase Easter flowers to be placed in the Sanctuary in memory or honor of someone for Easter, please complete an Easter Flower order form, which can be found in the Parlor and Welcome Center. The deadline to submit an order is Sunday, March 24. Supplies are limited.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE - MARCH 29

Our Good Friday Service will be on March 29 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Join us as we remember the suffering of Christ on our behalf. We encourage you to invite your family, friends, and co-workers for this special service. Childcare is provided through age 5.

EASTER EGG HUNT - MARCH 30

AVPC’s Children’s and Outreach Ministries will be hosting our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, at 10:30 AM in Altadena Park. Bring a friend and join us!  

CANDY AND EGG DONATIONS

If you would like to leave a donation of plastic eggs or candy for the Easter Egg Hunt, you can do so in one of the labeled boxes in the Parlor or Welcome Center.

EASTER AT AVPC - MARCH 31

Easter is only two weeks away! In addition to our Sunday morning worship services and Sunday School, our Easter services will begin with a sunrise service at 7:00 AM at Acton Memorial Cemetery followed by an Easter breakfast at 7:20 AM.

MEMBERSHIP NIGHT - APRIL 19

Are you thinking about church membership at Altadena? Come to our next Membership Event on Friday, April 19. Dinner is served at 6:00 PM, followed by an informational meeting. You will meet church staff and hear about ministry opportunities. You can sign up on the AVPC website HERE. Attendance at this or another membership night is required for church membership. The deadline to register is April 14.

CHURCH-WIDE TALENT SHOW - APRIL 20

Do you have a talent that you would be willing to share with others, all while helping raise support for the youth mission trip to Washington state? Then make plans to join us in the Fellowship Hall on April 20 at 6:00 PM for an evening you will not soon forget! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The Urban Hope Success Academy is an outreach ministry of Urban Hope, our sister church in Fairfield. The program offers academic support for middle schoolers over the summer and builds relationships with their families. For more information, contact Sandra Hardy (shardy0228@gmail.com).

We need one lead teacher in reading/language arts and 6 volunteers to assist.

The Prayer Prompt bookmarks from the Prayer Ministry Team are now available for use. Pick up your copy from the Parlor, the Welcome Center, or by following THIS LINK. Each month, there will be a specific theme and Scripture verses for you to use in praying for the Pastoral Transition Process. The theme for the month of March is Wisdom.

MISSIONS NEWS

OUR MISSIONARIES OF THE WEEK are Anthony and Sayo Odtohan who live and serve in Chiba, Japan. They serve with MTW where Anthony serves as a ministry assistant and deacon for Bilingual Worship in Oyumino Christ Church.
