CHRIST IN THE PASSOVER: AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE

Monday, April 3, 6:00pm

On Monday, April 3rd , AUMC will host “Christ in the Passover: An Interactive Experience.” This powerful, interactive experience, led by Alexander Adelson of Jews for Jesus, will illustrate the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples.

Join us for a sensory exploration of the beautiful Jewish ceremony called a Seder. As we taste the traditional symbolic foods, we’ll weave the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. The words “do this in remembrance of me” will take on an even deeper meaning to Christians as we learn the significance of the tradition Jesus observed the night before He died and give us a closer look at the very Jewish life He led.

Jewish or not, religious or not—all are welcome for this unforgettable, thought-provoking experience.

EASTER EGG-STRAVAGANZA FAMILY EGG HUNT

Sunday, April 2nd, 12pm

Mark your calendars for Palm Sunday and our annual Easter egg hunt!

We are in need of volunteers to help coordinate the egg hunt and stuff the eggs, as well as donations of empty plastic eggs and candy or egg-sized treats. (Please no chocolate - it melts!)

All who would like to help are invited to enjoy brunch and stuff Easter eggs on March 8th at 10am! If you would prefer to donate eggs that are already stuffed, please separate and identify any eggs that contain small toys or other potential "chokables." Thank you!

To plan appropriately for these trips, we need volunteers! What we are able to do and the number of students we can take depends on how many volunteers we have: more volunteers = more opportunities! Anyone wishing to display flowers in honor or memory of loved ones in our sanctuary, contact Linda Surratt at 817-228-4632. Linda is the flower coordinator on our Worship committee.

Our groups are open to adults in our community who are experiencing life's challenges. We all have difficult times in our lives when we need loving, compassionate support.

• Alzheimer's Support Group & Kaleidoscope - meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:00pm.
• Cancer Support Group - meets the second Tuesday of each month
• Caring Hearts/Stephen Ministers - AUMC is blessed to have many compassionate, caring men and women who are available to visit and pray with you. If you're going through a struggle or difficult time, they offer a confidential, listening ear and a word or prayer. Whether you just want to visit once or twice, or if you need a long-term prayer partner, kind folks are here to support you! Pastor Joel will be sharing a short devotional with this group. Burritos and coffee will be served. This is an opportunity to meet new people and decompress. The goal is for those not retired, to get back on the road by 8:15, at the latest. A donation of $5 is asked to cover the cost.

Interested in a weekly women’s group and a good cup of coffee? Lessons center around how we juggle being moms and followers of Christ in a busy world. New study began Thursday, January 12: video series entitled "What the Women Saw".  In this six-session study, we will see Jesus through the unique perspective of women in the Bible.
