TENNIS! TENNIS! TENNIS! It is time to play tennis again!! I don’t know about you but I am ready for some fun Fall tennis! Have a great season and I will see you at the General Membership Meeting.
Rule Change/Update:
Section III.TEAM PLACEMENT, B.1 (Replace a-j with below)
a. First Place Finishers:
i. A team finishing first in its division will automatically move to the division above. The first-place finisher would be considered as the sixth position in a 9 or 10 team flight or fourth position in a 5 or 6 team flight in the division above.
ii. A team finishing first in two (2) consecutive seasons will be placed two (2) divisions higher UNLESS that division is to an Open division.
iii. A team finishing first in three (3) consecutive seasons will be placed three (3) divisions higher UNLESS that division is to an Open division.
b. Decisive Flight Wins:
i. Any team, winning a season by 16 or more points in the Ladies and Mixed Leagues and by 12 or more points in the Love-50 and Love-60 leagues OR a team completing a season without losing any lines, will be considered, at the discretion of the Tennis Placement Task Force, for new placement into a more appropriate flight.
ii. A team finishing first by 10 or more points in its first season, and first in its second season, will be placed three (3) divisions higher UNLESS the division is to an Open division.
c. Last Place Finishers:
i. A team finishing last in its division will move to the division below. The last place finisher would be considered as the fifth position in a 9 or 10 team flight or third position in a 5 or 6 team flight in the division below.
ii. A team finishing last in two (2) consecutive seasons will be placed two (2) divisions lower.
iii. A team finishing last in three (3) consecutive seasons will be placed three (3) divisions lower.
d. Decisive Flight Losses:
i. A team finishing last by 10 or more points in its first season, and last again in its second season, will be placed three (3) divisions lower.
e. Other Potential Movement:
i. A team finishing second in its division may move to the division above, subject to openings in that higher division.
ii. A team finishing second-to-last in its division will move to the division below, unless an opening remains in the division in which it competed after all other team movements have been made.
