The Arctic Playhouse (1249 Main Street, West Warwick, Rhode Island) is pleased to announce open auditions for our 5th show in our 2024 season, One Slight Hitch, written by Lewis Black and directed by Kevin Thibault. (CORRECTIONS Below - no accents required).

SYNOPSIS:



In a house in a suburban Ohio neighborhood, a family prepares for the wedding of their oldest daughter. The mother is making sure that everything is perfect, from the groom to the dress to the decorations (assuming they arrive). Then the bride's ex shows up at the front door unannounced. So much for perfect.

Audition Preparation:

• All auditionees should come prepared to the auditions with a current theatrical resume and headshot (please note headshots will not be returned).

• Auditionees will be asked to fill out an audition form and include all conflicts from the audition date to the end of performances.

• Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

CAST OF CHARACTERS (ages are approximate)

P.B. (Female, teens/early 20s) - the youngest daughter, the loosest in the family.

Doc (Male, 55+) - the dad of the family, a doctor, charming, eccentric, conservative.

Delia (Female, 55+) - the mom of the family, in a constant state of panic

Ryan (Male, late 20s/early 30s) - a wannabe writer and Courtney's ex

Melanie (Female, mid-20s) - the middle daughter, nurse, attractive and psychotic

Courtney (Female, late 20s/early 30s) - the oldest daughter, recent first-time novelist, engaged to Harper.

Harper (Male, late 20s/early 30s) - logical and wealthy, engaged to Courtney.

We are looking for strong, passionate actors, and all ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

The Arctic Playhouse stands firm on the fact that strong actors with strong direction can play a role, no matter what their type, look, or ethnicity. Those interested should bring a resume (not an option) with photo/headshot. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.
