Register for a CMS webinar that will outline what physicians need to know about a new physician assistant law that took effect in August 2023. The webinar, All the Things You Need to Know About the New Physician Assistant Regulations, will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 12 p.m. with speakers Jean Martin, MD, JD, COPIC Deputy General Counsel, and John Conklin, JD, CMS-contracted general counsel. Application deadline extended: Making Care Primary model
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has extended the application deadline for its new Making Care Primary (MCP) Model by two weeks; the new deadline for application submission is Thursday, Dec.14 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The MCP application is non-binding and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
MCP will launch July 1, 2024, in eight states including Colorado. The model aims to improve outcomes and reduce costs through enhanced care management and better coordination with non-primary care specialists and other health professionals.

The nomination period for the 2024 election -- during which CMS members elect the president-elect and members of the Colorado delegation to the American Medical Association -- is open through Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024.
