After Ten Years With No Increase, ARS Membership Dues Will Go Up By $5 on September 1
The ARS is announcing an incremental increase of $5 in membership dues, beginning Sept 1. For the past ten years, the membership fee has stayed the same at $50 a year for most individual memberships. We have been fortunate to enjoy a relatively long period of very low inflation. But in 2020 and 2021, inflation climbed above 5% for the first time in years. To keep up with rising costs the ARS faces in publishing the magazine, mailing costs, insurance, employee cost of living increases and many other expenses, the ARS Executive Committee has decided that a modest fee increase is warranted. Members who receive renewal notices before September 1 will be able to renew at the old rate. Half-price membership for new people will continue. If the membership fee is a financial hardship for you, please contact Administrative Director Susan Burns and she may be able to help.
