Scenario 1) You've sold 10 in 3 months, and have 2 left. Sandy recommends you order 6. Why? Your sell through was pretty good (not great), and adding 6 gets you to 8 on hand which should cover you for the next 2 1/2 months.

Scenario 2) You've sold 6 in 1 month and have 0 left. Sandy recommends you order 12. Why? This product moved well, and appears that it could be a hit. You want to get those 12 in as soon as possible. (If those 12 sell quickly, may want to consider your next order being 24)

Scenario 3) You've sold 3 in 3 months and have 3 on hand. Sandy recommends not reordering this item. While it may not have to go in the Sale Section, you may want to notate in your system (possibly by adding an "x" by the item number) not to reorder this.

Scenario 4) You've sold 11 in 2 months and have 1 left. Sandy recommends you reorder 12. Why? That last one in inventory is not always a true number. Sometimes it doesn't exist due to an inventory error. Sometimes the item is buried behind other items and can't be seen. Then other times, it just doesn't sell as there seems to be a buyer mentality of not buying an item when it's the only one left on the shelf.

Those first 11 sold pretty well. It makes sense to bring in 12 more.

There are numerous factors to consider when reordering. Are the items seasonal? Are you approaching your busy time of the year, or approaching slower months? Do you have similar product that that competes or is this item rather unique? Is this item part of a category that is trending upwards (or trending downwards)?

We have seen many new owners over the last three years. The above is meant just to give guidance, and a place to begin. Overtime, you will develop your own style that works best for you.
