Chancellor Office Hours
Chancellor Brian King will be hosting monthly office hours at each Los Rios college. This is an opportunity for faculty, staff or students to drop in and talk to Chancellor King about any topic(s) important to you or your college in general.
Chancellor King's April Office Hour at American River College will be on Wednesday, April 10 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Center for Leadership & Development.

Be a part of the magic of graduation and sign up to volunteer with us for one or both days! There are lots of different opportunities and many don’t require that you stay for the full duration of the graduation ceremony, but you are of course welcome to join us in cheering on our graduates. Attend Sacramento State Spring Sting 2024!
The Office of Admissions and Outreach will be hosting Spring Sting in person at American River College on Wednesday, April 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Spring Sting is an event where we bring Sacramento State departments and support services to your community college. Prospective transfer students will have the opportunity to meet with the Sacramento State community in order to help facilitate the transition from community college to our campus.
Some departments include: Transfer Resource Center, EOP, Liberal Studies, MLK Center, Pride Center, College of Business, Department of English, Department of Recreation, Park, & Tourism, Art Department, and much more!
RSVP recommended but not required to attend. We can’t wait to see you there!

Kaiser Volunteer Opportunity: American Geriatrics Society CoCarer®, HELP | |
The AGS CoCarer®: Hospital Elder Life Program is for hospitalized older adult patients to decrease confusion and loss of independence. They are actively recruiting volunteers to participate in their HELP Program. Patients are assisted by trained volunteers and overseen by Elder Life Specialists and Elder Life Nurse Specialists.
Seeking volunteers who:
- Have an interest in caring for older adult patients
- Responsible, caring, and respectful or older adults
- Can help re-orient patients to their settings with social visits/conversation
- Will provide cognitive stimulation to patients based on specialized training
- Accompany patients during mealtime
- Guide patients with range of motion exercises and encourage appropriate ambulation
HELP Volunteer Requirements:
- Make at least a 1-year commitment to the program
- Commit to a 4-hour weekly shift for at least 6 months
- Undergo specialized training, including 8 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of precepted training
- Successfully complete competency-based checklist
