Kongsberg Digital appoints new CEO
September 5, 2022 — Kongsberg Digital has announced that Shane McArdle has been appointed the company’s new CEO. McArdle will be Kongsberg Digital’s second CEO after Hege Skryseth joined Equinor last week.
“Today, we are proud to present Shane McArdle as our new CEO of Kongsberg Digital. After a thorough assessment, we are happy to have found the best candidate in our own ranks to take the reins in an extremely exciting time”, says Thomas Borgen, Chairman of Kongsberg Digital.

Port of Long Beach gets greenlight for channel deepening project
August 31, 2022 — What’s good for navigation at the Port of Long Beach is good for the region and the nation. That’s the conclusion of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers following its extensive environmental review and feasibility study of proposed improvements to the Port’s waterways.
On July 6, Assistant Secretary of the Army Michael L. Connor issued a Record of Decision on the Port’s Deep Draft Navigation Feasibility Study and Channel Deepening Project to improve navigation, commerce and safety by deepening channels, basins and berths and widening key passages. The ROD concludes the Army Corps’ work on the Final Integrated Feasibility Report with Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report and greenlights federal participation.

MV George III, makes her inaugural arrival at Honolulu Harbor’s Pier 51
August 25, 2022 — Pasha Hawaii marked three generations of service to Hawaii, with the arrival of MV George III, the first of two new 774-foot Liquified Natural Gas (LNG)-powered containerships scheduled to be completed this year as part of the company’s ‘Ohana Class vessels.
Operating fully on natural gas from day one, the new Jones Act vessel surpasses the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2030 emission standards for ocean vessels, representing the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly vessel to serve Hawaii. Energy efficiencies are also achieved with a state-of-the-art engine, an optimized hull form, and an underwater propulsion system with a high-efficiency rudder and propeller.

August 19, 2022 — NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading provider and integrator of advanced IT, communications, networking and biometric solutions today announced Gary Lac has joined the company as Vice President of Solutions. Gary brings more than 20 years of biometric and identity solution sales, development and delivery experience to NEC.
