CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN!
Deadline for all submissions: Monday, April 2, 2018
2018 is a landmark year for us as we officially transition from the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine to the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry come April 15. We are pleased to announce the annual meeting's new name as Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry 2018 (CLP 2018), which will continue to grow as the point of convergence for our subspeciality. CLP 2018 convenes in Orlando, Florida, this November 13-17, 2018 (preconference: November 13–14).

Don't miss the chance to contribute to the 2018 meeting! President James Rundell, MD, FAPM, and CLP 2018 Scientific Program Committee chair, Christina Wichman, DO, FAPM, invite you to submit your abstracts for preconference courses, general sessions, oral papers and posters.

Abstracts for all presentation types may only be  submitted online. All tasks must be fully complete before an abstract is accepted for review, including the disclosure of commercial relationships.

Abstract submissions not fully complete by 11:59 EDT on Monday, April 2, 2018, will not be considered by the program committee. Please  click here to start the process.

Drs. Rundell and Wichman have selected as this year's meeting theme,  Branding C-L Psychiatry: Defining the Breadth and Depth of Our Subspecialty. While abstract submissions that span the breadth of C-L are welcome, submissions that closely align with the theme shall be preferred over general subjects.

C-L clinicians face a wide breath of conundrums and controversies in all areas of practice. Therefore, successful submissions related to current C-L psychiatry dilemmas will cover a wide breadth of topics. We hope for an extensive range of presentations including, but not limited to, inpatient consultation-liaison, collaborative care, psychiatric emergencies, maternal-fetal medicine, child C-L, addiction, forensics, ethics, and other topics relevant to clinicians in C-L settings.

The CLP 2018 Annual Meeting Program Committee is dedicated to assembling the highest-quality educational program for our attendees. Each year, the best-received sessions are those in which attendees learn information relevant to their work in a lively, engaging environment. In the spirit of continuous improvement we encourage all potential presenters to incorporate emerging knowledge about how adults learn in order to better engage their audience. This includes considering Socratic teaching methods and other forms of audience participation, flipped classrooms, and case-based instruction.
