Get Ready for Advocacy Day!

Thanks to advocates across the country -- including many of you -- Congress recently approved an increase in child care and early education funding for the 2023 fiscal year. This increase includes $1.9 billion in new funding for the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF). This funding can be used to support vouchers, early learn, licensing and quality. As a result, New York will receive an additional $84,346 million, a 31% increase over annual funding last year.

With a new Congress elected in November, we don't anticipate any increase in federal funding over the next two years. That's why All Our Kin will be joining the Empire State Child Care Campaign in Albany for an in-person rally and press conference on Tuesday, February 14! It is important for us to have a big presence at the Capitol this year to show the Legislature, Governor, and the media that child care is a top priority issue in New York with much more work still to be done.

If you can’t make it to Albany, there will also be a virtual rally on Tuesday, Feb. 7 in addition to virtual meetings with legislators. Now is our time to make our voices heard as a family child care community!
