The President
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
United States of America
Mr. Trump,
Taking into consideration that you have contracted the coronavirus, as has Mrs. Trump, I paused to give some thought as to the felicitousness of opening my exhibition, and making public a catalogue that I present as a “Voter’s Digest,” during the time that you are fighting a deadly virus.
Contrary to yourself and to your acolytes, whom, on the last Saturday of September, before Justice Madam Ruth Bader Ginsburg was laid to rest, celebrated your nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court in a triumphant display of fist bumps and garden party smiles that reeked of unabashed callousness toward the memory of a giant of the Supreme Court, I am loath to kick someone when they are down.
I pray for each person afflicted with the coronavirus, for I have witnessed the suffering and, in specific cases, the death of some loved by people very close to me.
Nonetheless, I need to charge-on with my contribution to the effort to remove from the presidency the man whose actions have wreaked havoc upon the balance of our nation.
To your image, you have encouraged the worse facets of America to invade the country like a gangrene. This has resulted in countless deaths, due chiefly to your self-serving propaganda.
The army doctors at Walter Reed are no longer losers now that you need them, huh? And science is nothing short of miraculous now that it can save you. Where were these thoughts when it was the people, your people, that needed your leadership?
I view the presidency a bit like parenting. It requires one to put their own needs on the back-burner in order to foster the lives of those whose care has been entrusted to them.
I do not wish ill-will to you and yours, but since you have treated this country like your personal playground, and the White House like a doghouse, it is paramount for each and every one of us to make our opinion known loud and clear. Such is the way of democracy.
So, with all due respect, my exhibition is opening as planned today, the first day of voting in California, and I will share content on social media until the election.
Whatever the outcome of the presidency, and, indeed, that of your recovery, we will be left only to say, “it is what it is.”
Until then, let us fight—you for your health, and us for the presidency!
À bon entendeur, salut !
