AMERICAN DREAMER

Tuesday July 23rd 7:30pm

FOLLOWED BY A DISCUSSION

WITH ACTRESS JOBETH WILLIAMS

Life gets stranger-than-fiction in this clever and brisk paced cloak-and-dagger comedy adventure. Cathy Palmer is a neglected housewife whose only excitement in life comes from reading sizzling romantic thrillers by the renowned Rebecca Ryan. After arriving on vacation in Paris, an accident causes her to believe she’s her favorite author. It’s a whimsical action-comedy for the romantic dreamers in all of us.

JoBeth Williams has starred in many films, including “Poltergeist”, “The Big Chill”, “Kramer vs. Kramer”, “Jungle to Jungle;” “Stir Crazy”,  “The Big year”, and the soon to be released “Not Without Hope” starring Zachary Levi, as well as numerous television shows, including “Marry Me”,” Hart of Dixie”, “Private Practice”, and “Frasier”. Theater in Los Angeles includes “Other Desert Cities” at the Taper, plays at the Geffen, Odyssey, and “Antony and Cleopatra” at The Old Globe. In New York theater she has starred in “Body Awareness” by Annie Baker, “Last Dance” by Marsha Norman, ”Gardenia” by John Guare, “Moonchildren” by Michael Weller. Ms. Williams has received three Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations, and an Academy Award nomination for directing a short film.

PARKING SUGGESTIONS IN SUMMER AT THE TISBURY MARKETPLACE WHEN ATTENDING A FILM/EVENT

The trustees of the TMP have instituted 1-hour parking restrictions for all spaces from the NET RESULT to ROCCO’s PIZZA for all hours, however after 6:00 pm you may park in any 1-hour space for a film at 7:30 PM.

Please try to park in back of the Film Center building or in the alley way leading to the back first for an afternoon film (there are about 15-25 spaces in back in evening). There is parallel parking one both sides, along the buildings (behind Toy Box/barbershop) accessed by turn right at the end of Net Result outdoor seating (look for our signs) as you first drive into the TMP or going right at Mark Hutker Architects offices at the back of the horseshoe. Please use our convenient back entrance.

All spaces on the “water side” of the parking plan are un-marked (except for 8 restaurant only spaces) – you may park there any time if available for a movie — even those up near Beach Road.

If attending a 7:30 pm night time film, please refrain from parking in front of the NET RESULT at the entrance of the TMP or in the 4 parking spaces directly in front of ROCCO’s PIZZA, they both have “take-out” customers that are coming and going until closing (these are marked 15 minute spaces). Unless they are CLOSED, then you may park in those spaces.

Usually on SUNDAYS only, all businesses are closed except for the Film Center and Catboat Coffee – you can pretty much park anywhere.

We have re-instated parallel parking on both sides through the alley way after turning right at the Net Result and heading back behind the buildings towards the rear of the Film Center (see photo below). When parking against the low stone wall on the right – let any passengers out before parking close to the wall as possible (same with the buildings on the left), ensuring a 12 foot drive through width.

Please note that its one-way traffic from the Net Result to the back of the Film Center.

All questions about these new restrictions should be directed to the Tisbury Condo Association offices at (508) 696-7784.

**CAR POOLING is recommended — if you know of friends attending this performance, please drive together. Or walk in from town if you can, it’s a short walk on new town sidewalks. We also have a bike rack if you’d like to bike to the center, its across from Catboat coffee.

Drive safely and always be aware of pedestrians walking through the parking lot.
