News, Honors & Achievements from AMD Middle School

Principal's Update

Hey everyone! Dr. Nover here. Happy Friday!

Thank you to all who reached out to share notes of gratitude and feedback this week. We will continue to work with our community partners to bring programs to AMD to educate our students and families. As you know, our team is committed to fostering relationships, enhancing safety, and developing systems and structures to support our school operations. It is because of the measures that we have put in place that we were able to maintain a sense of calm, engage in strategic action to support all of our students, and follow up with consequences where necessary aligned with our code of conduct.

I will be traveling for my brother's wedding from March 12th through March 17th with limited access to email. This is three student days. Your grade-level APs and grade teams will be your first point of contact during these times. Mr. Charvet will be the lead AP in my absence, and Assistant Superintendent Meyer will support him and the team. I will respond to all communications upon my return. Thank you for your understanding!

We are looking forward to next week, when student leaders from the high school will visit during lunches to meet with our students about the districtwide mascot development initiative. In addition, we will continue our GEAR-UP trips for our 8th graders. Our World Language students will also begin their penpal visits to OHS! Many exciting opportunities are planned for our learners inside and outside of the classroom.

Below, you will find a letter about the Panorama Survey. Please complete this survey. We utilize the data to set and monitor our building goals.

Progress reports will be released to families via the portal on Friday, March 15th.

Thank you all so much for your support and partnership! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!

With gratitude,

Dr. Nicole Mangiere Nover

Principal

Our students need to come to school prepared and ready to learn. To ensure that your children have a successful academic experience, please make sure they come equipped with the necessary supplies such as paper, pencils, pens, and any other materials they may need for their classes. Encouraging them to participate and engage in their learning journey will greatly contribute to their growth and development.

Mr. Quiroga's photography class

Eighth-grade students are discovering the art of forced perspective photography in Mr. Quiroga's photography class. Through clever manipulation of angles and perspective, these young photographers create captivating images that challenge perception and showcase their creativity. From whimsical scenes to surreal landscapes, each photograph tells a unique story, showcasing the students' technical skills and artistic vision as they explore the boundaries of visual storytelling.

Congrats!!
