Congratulations to Milton's Model UN Team, Yousuf Mirza, Tanish Karanala, Vishnu Rao, and Neal Kotval for winning "Best Small Delegation" out of 250 students statewide. The Model UN Conference was held at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology on September 30. Additionally, Yousuf Mirza received 2nd Place for General Assembly, legal GA-6, and representing the Islamic Republic of Iran during the event. | |

11th GRADE INFORMATION NIGHT | |

Junior Parents & Guardians- please mark your calendars for Monday, October 2. Counselors will be presenting pertinent information related to 11th grade in the Milton Auditorium from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, followed by an in-person presentation at 7:00 PM from The Princeton Review (TPR) on Test-Optional Admissions. TPR will be sharing great information on how admissions decisions are made at test-optional schools and how you can decide if submitting test scores is right for you!
If you are unable to attend the presentation, a virtual recording of the counseling presentation will be posted to the counseling website by Wednesday, October 4. We look forward to seeing you there!

MHS Counseling will be offering a Fall administration of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) on Friday, November 3, 2023. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It is administered annually to more than one million military applicants, high school, and post-secondary students.

Milton Theatre Company will be hosting an evening of One Acts October 13 & 14 at 7:00PM. STAFF APPRECIATION
On Monday of this past week, we celebrated our amazing MHS staff with dessert pies from Doodle Pies. Staff had the opportunity to pre-order their preferred flavor, and our parent volunteers packaged and labelled the pies for pick up. A huge shout out to all who helped make this happen...we love our staff and volunteers!

MARCHING BAND
Congratulations to the Marching Band for being named Grand Champions of this year's Contest of Champions Marching Band competition! The band received the highest score of the day of all competing bands in addition to winning overall first place caption trophies for Colorguard, Percussion and Drum Majors.

On the grounds of famous movies like Avengers Endgame & Black Panther, the Eagle cross country teams raced the best teams in the state & some very strong out-of-state teams to place in the top-10 in three of the four races Milton competed in with many personal bests & two best performances in school history.

Fulton County Schools Board of Education's School UPDATED Admission Policy (JBC) REQUIRES submission of TWO proofs of Residency (from the district-approved list below) for high school students in the 10th grade.
TWO proofs of residency documents: Both proof of residency documents must contain parent/guardian’s name and address and must be no more than 30 days old:
Approved documents for verification are:
1) ONE UTILITY PROOF (must be current)
PLUS
2) ONE RESIDENCE PROOF (must be current)

- Current bank statement
- Current paycheck
- Copy of home sale contract
- Section Eight/HUD housing document

ATTENTION 11th GRADE PARENTS/GUARDIANS | |

JUNIORS - REQUIRED PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION DEADLINE
11th Grade Students: Effective July 1, 2021, all students entering or transferring into the 11th grade will need proof of a meningococcal booster (MCV4), unless their first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday.
Additionally, the new Certificate of Immunization Form 3231 (Revised 7/2014) is a requirement for all students to register for school. The new 3231 Certificate of Immunization Form can be obtained from a community provider and/or local health departments who should also have access to GRITS (The Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services). Proof of both vaccinations MUST be documented on the Georgia Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231). Certificates issued prior to July 1, 2014, can be submitted only if Form 3231 (Revised 3/2007) shows proof of the two vaccinations unless the child has an exemption.
NOTE NEW CHANGE: Georgia Department of Public Health has developed a new Affidavit of Religious Objection to Immunization Form 2208 for use by all new students enrolling in a Fulton County School beginning with the 2015-2016 school year who wish to submit a religious exemption. You can find the new form at http://dph.georgia.gov/schools-and-childcare under forms and brochures.
Please check to make sure your student has all required vaccinations even if the certificate is marked complete. If the Certificate is marked complete and the child does not have the required vaccines, he/she must return to their primary care provider or public health center to receive the required vaccines and be issued a new/updated certificate.

Attention 9th - 11th Grade Families:
Your student is scheduled to take the Digital PSAT on Friday, October 13 at Milton High School. In order to gain access to the test, your student needs to use an FCS issued student device. If your student DOES NOT already have an FCS issued device, please have your student visit the Tech Support room across from the media center (7123) during his/her lunch period to pick up a device.
Lunch times are as follows:

4th Lunch is 11:47-12:39
5th Lunch is 12:44-1:36

Registration for 2023-24 AP exams is open! Exams will begin on Monday, May 6 and end on Friday, May 17. To register for an exam, you must first have a College Board account. Please visit apcentral.collegeboard.org to create your account. Please use a personal email address that you use frequently when creating a College Board account; DO NOT use your FCS email address as you may not receive vital information from College Board.
Once you have created an account, use the JOIN CODE(s) you received from your AP teacher(s) to sign up for each AP exam you want to take.
Preferred Deadline for Ordering Exams for students taking full year or fall semester only AP courses with a Milton teacher or all exam only GAVS students (full year, fall, and/or spring semester courses) is Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 11:59 pm. The final ordering deadline is Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 11:59 am. Any orders after this date will incur a $40.00 late registration fee.
