2024 BACCALAUREATE SERVICE | |
|
2024 Baccalaureate Details
We are looking forward to an amazing service for our seniors! Following are some of the details for the day:
- Seniors will need to be at Milton Community Church by 4:30. They will need to enter through the front doors and go downstairs to be lined up for the processional into the sanctuary. There will be reserved seating for the seniors; family members may sit anywhere not reserved. Seniors will need to wear their gowns and cords - no cap. In past tradition, girls have worn white dresses and boys have worn white collared shirts (polo or golf shirt is fine). This is not required, but suggested.
- The service starts at 5:00 and should be an hour long. When it is finished, the seniors will stand and be led out of the sanctuary and can meet their families outside of the church. When exiting, the students will receive a small gift given at the doors.
- As a reminder, we are still collecting donations (suggested $25) to help cover the costs of the service. You can Venmo Laurie Moore - @Laurie-Moore-45 or mail a check to 450 Dorris Rd Milton, GA 30004.
Thank you to those who have donated and to those who have offered to volunteer! **As a reminder, this is a parent led and volunteer organized event. This is not a MHS or PTO event.

The Lady Eagles (3rd-130 pts) were paced by a balanced group of scoring from many different events while besting 3 schools. Other members of the record-setting 4x200m relay included freshman Simone Dennis (4th-12.25 in the 100m & 4th-25.69 in the 200m), seniors Juliana Gross & 400m region champion Nya Smith (1st-58.81). Smith & Dennis then teamed up with seniors Leelah Dennis (5th-2:23.70, 800m & ran a leg on the sectional qualifying 4x800m relay) and 800m runner-up senior & GA Tech commit Ella Grace Malcom (2nd-2:22.61, 800m) to win the 4x400m relay (1st-4:06.01) to close out the meet.

His school record in the 200m (2nd-21.66) broke a 6-year-old record and was run from the slowest section to capture runner-up honors. He followed that up in the 400m (3rd-49.40) & a leg on the runner-up 4x400m (2nd-3:27.60, the 10th best performance in school history) relay team with fellow seniors Parker Mones & Zach Patell (who was runner-up in the 800m, 2nd-1:56.27) & junior CJ Wiley who was 3rd in the 200m-22.00 & 6th in the 100m-11.11. Other runners-up were junior Noah Vinson in the long jump (2nd-20’3.5”) & senior Riley Rushing in the 6th-best shot-put throw in school history (2nd-47’5.5”)!

2024-2025 Back-to-School Immunization Requirements
All students entering or transferring into the 11th grade will need proof of a
meningococcal booster (MCV4) unless their first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday. Meningococcal disease is a serious bacterial illness that affects the brain and the spinal cord. Meningitis can cause shock, coma, and death within hours of the first symptoms. To help protect your children and others from meningitis, Georgia law requires students to be vaccinated against this disease unless the child has an exemption.
