STUDENT HEALTH SURVEY

Dear Milton Parents/Guardians,

The Georgia Student Health Survey is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument that identifies school safety and climate issues that impact student achievement. In order to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for your child, the Georgia Department of Education collects survey information from students during the school year.

Each school must have a 75% participation rate on the student portion of the survey. Schools failing to meet the 75% student participation rate will score 0.00 points on the school's CCRPI survey calculation under the survey portion of the School Climate Star Rating.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and covers various topics such as school climate and safety, alcohol and drug use and mental health. All student survey data is anonymous and self-reported. Milton High School will administer this survey starting on January 17, 2024.

The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) gives you the right to opt your child out of participating in the survey.

If you do NOT wish for your child to participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey, please email glympho@fultonschools.org requesting that your student does NOT participate in the Georgia Health Survey prior to January 12, 2024.

Any additional questions or concerns should be directed to your assigned counselor:

Casey Lahman, A-Cor

Christine Hoglander, Cos-Hok

AP LATE REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION

If a student has been enrolled in year-long F2F and GAVS AP courses or fall (one semester) AP courses and did not register before the November 13 deadline, they must pay $40.00 late fee for each exam being ordered. If the fee(s) is not paid the exam(s) will not be ordered. The deadline for late registration/ordering is Monday, March 11.

Also, any students who registered for exams in the fall and would like to cancel exams must pay a $40.00 late fee by Monday, March 11.  If the fee is not paid, the fee will be added to the student’s school account.

Students must follow the steps below to pay late registration/order/cancellation fees:

  • Go to Milton High School website
  • Click in Online School Payments (OSP)
  • Click on Milton HS (left side of screen)
  • Click AP Exam Late Order Fee
  • Complete the Order Form (be sure to pay $40.00 for each exam you want to register for)
  • Save receipt for records.
  • Student must email receipt to: Monica White at whiteml@fultonschools.org

Student must state the following in the email:

  • Student Name
  • Subject exam(s) student wants to order/cancel
  • Teacher(s) and Period(s) of AP course(s) in    which the student is enrolled

Once Ms. White receives the email with the above information and receipt attached, an email will be sent to student with JOIN CODE(s), so student can register for the exam(s). Once the student registers for the exam(s), the exam(s) will be ordered. Exam cancellation will happen once receipt of late fee is received.

TARDY HALL SWEEPS BEGINNING

Happy New Year!

Milton High School’s administrative team will begin doing hall sweeps very soon to help decrease the number of students who are tardy to school.

Because it is a new semester, students tardies for the semester reset.

After the 8:20 AM tardy bell rings, administrators and school personnel will “sweep” the hallways, sending tardy students to specific tardy stations, where admin will record tardies, provide tardy passes and send students to their class. Students who are continuously late to school will receive a school consequence, per Rule 12 in the Student Code of Conduct.

We understand that some tardies are unavoidable due to health issues or other circumstances. However, we also know that when students miss instructional time, regardless of the reason, it can cause them to fall behind academically.

Thank you for your support, MHS Admin team
