Investing in Healthcare: How Pontotoc Technology Center’s Expansion Will Shape Future Workforce

Pontotoc Technology Center (PTC) provides tremendous benefits to the community and developing workforce. Now, though, Congressman Tom Cole and the leadership of PTC Superintendent, Travis Graham, are enabling this facility to grow by expanding existing programs and offering new ones as well. Specifically, Cole secured funding for PTC to expand their nursing program.

RADIOACTIVE BACON SHINES IN YOUTH CODING LEAGUE FINALS

In addition to the excellent showing the Conduit Coders made in the Spring 2024 regular season, one team, Radioactive Bacon, comprised of Sophia Baker (Ada 5th) and Eli Priddle (Ada 6th), has continued to excel in the postseason! Their project made it to the finals in both the Technical Merit and Community Favorite categories. Both categories are down to the final eight projects across the country. Winners will be announced via a video announcement on the Youth Coding League website on Friday, April 19th, at noon!

RECAP: AJF TECH MEETUP ON THIRD-PARTY DATA ACCESS

On April 4th, AJF hosted its largest tech meetup yet focusing on the topic of third-party access to internal data. Jake Cantrell led the conversation, initiating discussions on various practices and policies adopted by local companies. The meetup attracted a diverse audience, including students from ECU and professionals from organizations like People’s Electric Cooperative, the Chickasaw Nation, among others who actively participated in the discussion. These meetups have seen consistent growth and serve as valuable platforms for knowledge sharing and networking within the community.

CONDUIT INITIATIVE’S MONTHLY WORKSHOPS: SUPPORTING LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS

On April 10th, the Conduit Initiative hosted its monthly workshop led by Ashia Todd, focusing on providing practical marketing knowledge and tools to support local businesses. Ashia shared insights with the group on various platforms for social media management, tools for creating marketing content, and effective strategies to boost engagement. Attendees found the workshop valuable, with one participant noting, "The services you provide are essential for small businesses." These workshops hosted by the Conduit Initiative aim to empower participants with actionable skills and strategies in a supportive environment. Through interactive sessions and guidance, attendees gain insights and resources to navigate entrepreneurship effectively.
