Message from the CEO

Last year was a huge one for digital health and I thank all members for their valued contributions to our events, programs and community. This year will be another busy and exciting 12 months for AIDH and our community.

I am sure most of you will already have read the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Digital Health Blueprint 2023-2033 and Action Plan.

The Blueprint outlines the Government’s 10-year vision for Australia’s digital health to continue providing a more connected and sustainable health system. The Action Plan highlights initiatives the Government is investing in to achieve this vision, and the research and development needed to realise connected care.

We are proud to have contributed to the delivery of the National Digital Health Strategy and to play our part in implementing the Action Plan. AIDH is committed to the goal of ensuring “Australia’s health workforce is digitally empowered to provide connected care”. This will be supported by the online digital health hub, developing digital career pathways, based on foundational capability statements, and collaboration with peak bodies, industry, educational bodies and healthcare providers.

We are excited to announce that HIC is back this year as the annual gathering of the digital health community. We are in full swing preparing for HIC 2024 in Brisbane from 5th to 7th of August. We are also planning a range of collaborations alongside the main event to support the broader digital health agenda. Stay tuned for further announcements.

Lastly, I would like to warmly welcome the incoming CEO of the AIDH, Anja Nikolic who will take over the reins at the end of March. I’ve been enjoying getting to know her and I am sure she will lead the Institute and community through the next phase of growth.

We look forward to another successful year supporting and upskilling our members in digital health.

Kind regards

Mark Nevin FAIDH
