Firm Feature Focus:
ZFA Structural Engineers

We at ZFA Structural Engineers (ZFA) are pleased to announce the recent promotions of three colleagues from our Santa Rosa office to the role of Principal. Andrew, Marianne, and Drew each have their own unique talents, areas of expertise, and contributions to the community. Their technical and project management expertise combined with their multifaceted project experience makes them invaluable assets to the AIA Redwood Empire chapter as they continue to support its mission to promote excellence in architectural practice.
MARIANNE WILSON, SE, LEED AP. Marianne has been instrumental in building a successful custom residential design studio in ZFA's Santa Rosa office since she joined the firm in 2006. Her passion for crafting exquisite details, pursuing meticulous coordination, and understanding complex architectural designs has fostered success on a wide range of projects, including the retrofit and revitalization of the Historic Trefethen Family Vineyards structure for which she authored an article in STRUCTURE magazine. Internally, Marianne leads ZFA’s robust engineer training program and has also obtained certification as a trainer for the Safety Assessment Program (SAP) through Cal OES, emphasizing her commitment to ensuring safety after natural disasters. Marianne actively promotes ZFA's work externally, lending her expertise to project presentations and panels for esteemed groups such as SEAONC, AIARE, and Cal Poly.
DREW FAGENT, SE. With nearly 20 years in the industry, Drew's dedication to innovation has been showcased throughout his tenure at ZFA. He has provided engineering services to clients in various local sectors, including hospitality, industrial, and the dynamic realms of both custom and multi-family residential projects. In recent years, Drew has ventured into customized metal buildings and volumetric modular construction, staying at the forefront of innovative design practices. A champion of emerging technologies, he has played a pivotal role in integrating sustainable solutions such as lower carbon concrete, mass timber, prestressed concrete, and a wide range of prefabrication techniques into ZFA's projects. Additionally, he takes pride in his involvement with Sonoma County Generation Housing, which supports his passion for enhancing the supply, diversity, and affordability of housing in the region.
