Now Open for Submissions and Nominations

It’s that time of year once again! AIA Kentucky's 2024 Honor Awards for Excellence in Architectural Design are open for submissions, now until June 10.

Our Special Awards Program for Excellence in Service to the Profession is also open for nominations now through June 26. Awards may be given in ten (10) categories, including our brand new Equitable Firm Award! Now is your chance to recognize colleagues who are doing great work on behalf of the profession, so download our 2024 program information today.

2024 Aspire Design Awards

Take your firm’s recognition to the regional level by also participating in the Aspire Design Awards program, which seeks to highlight the diverse range of projects by architects in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

The AIA Aspire States have a long-standing tradition of recognizing a broad range of architecture activity that improves the quality of the built environment in the communities we serve. Learn more here and submit your projects by Friday, June 21st at 11:59PM EDT. 

Join us September 15-17 in Asheville, NC, for an unforgettable experience packed with inspiration, innovation, and networking. We hope to see many AIA Kentucky members recognized on this regional level platform for their excellent design work.

2024 AIA KY Board Nominations

AIA Kentucky is seeking members interested in leadership positions on our board of directors.

The position of Secretary for 2025 will be open, with preference given to a Central Kentucky Chapter member to maintain geographic balance on the Executive Committee. This is a one-year term that traditionally leads to ongoing service in subsequent years as Treasurer, President-Elect and then President of AIA Kentucky.

The Associate Director will serve a two-year term on the AIA Kentucky Board, as well as the National Associates Committee, for the 2025-26 calendar years.

Members interested in either position should submit a letter of interest to Nominating Committee Chairman, Mark Trier, FAIA no later than Friday, July 26. Questions?

Kentucky Architect License Renewals

The KY 2024 Architect renewal period is now open for both practicing and Emeritus Architects. As a reminder, any renewals after June 30, 2024 will incur late fees. Renew online at boa.ky.gov.

A reminder to those renewing that you must also certify having completed twelve (12) continuing education hours (all HSW) during the period beginning January 1 and ending December 31 of 2023. Visit the BOA website for additional information & FAQs.

Ned Crankshaw has been named dean of the University of Kentucky College of Design, effective July 1, pending approval of the UK Board of Trustees. Topic A Resources Move to Blueprint for Better Website

On May 30, AIA sunset its Topic Architecture website. The archived content, which includes resources that can help clients better understand the services provided by architects, will now be folded into AIA’s Blueprint for Better website, blueprintforbetter.org, and will host new content and resources going forward.
