Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro Design Tour


The renovation of the Boys & Girls Club presented a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the well-loved but outdated building to support a shift from elementary and middle school programming to teen-focused programs. Siegel & Strain worked with the Club to help them re-envision their site and building as a contemporary, transparent place where students can tinker, play, learn and be together, inside and outside.

Women in Architecture Dine & Discuss


Join your fellow Women in Architecture for our April gathering! We will begin at 6:30 pm with introductions and brief announcements of the WIA Upcoming Events & Programs. We will wrap up by 7:00 pm and groups of four WiA members will head out to their selected restaurants to network over dinner and drinks.

2024 Lecture Series: Communities


Volunteer with AIA EB WiA as a mentor as we host our first speed mentoring session. 20 students from nearby universities will pair up with mentors for a brief informal discussion introducing themselves and sharing their goals, resumes, and/or flipping through their portfolios. Students will make their rounds and be able to refine their elevator pitches as they have the opportunity to connect and network with mentors of varying backgrounds and experience levels.

ABI February 2024: Pace of billings decline continues to slow


This is the closest to 50 that the ABI score has been since last July (a score over 50 indicates billings growth) and suggests that the recent slowdown may be receding. In addition, inquiries into new projects grew at their fastest pace since November, and the value of newly signed design contracts increased as well. This is just the fourth time that design contracts have increased in the last year and is a good indicator that work at firms may begin picking up in the coming months.
