New EVP Seizing the Opportunity!

On July 8, Alex Koutroubas began his role as AGC of NH’s Executive Vice President. Since assuming his new responsibilities, Alex has had several meetings with AGC of America staff including CEO, Jeffrey Shoaf. Koutroubas also attended a new member virtual TEAMS briefing and participated in two onboarding calls with key AGC national staff.

On July 21 and July 22, Alex attended the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials (NASTO) conference in Manchester. This year’s event was hosted by NHDOT. During the conference, AGC of NH participated in internal and external roundtables with members and state agency leaders. The discussions included, transportation workforce, how technology can improve work zone safety, how AI can assist transportation contractors and new revenue sources in the next surface transportation bill. These position papers are still in draft form. We will share the final versions once they are approved.

Meet the Members!

Over the past several weeks, Alex has visited three active construction sites with member companies to view and discuss vertical and horizontal projects in NH. These included roadway and culvert expansion, building structures and a quarry and aggregate crushing facility. Many thanks to R.S. Audley, Pike Industries and Harvey Construction for their assistance with these important visits. There will be more coming soon.

Meet the Commissioners!

This week, Gary Abbott and Alex Koutroubas conducted three “handoff meetings” with NHDOT Commissioner Cass, NHDES Commissioner Scott and Fish and Game Executive Director Mason and staff. The discussions at these meetings included: transportation funding, PFAS at construction sites, driveway permits, wetlands, AoT permits and more.

AGC of NH would like to thank Harvey Construction, Continental Paving, Inc, Gemini Electric and The Rowley Agency for their generous sponsorship of the 2024 Member Appreciation Fisher Cats Event.
