Workforce Development Census

As everyone grapples with workforce constraints, AGC MA is actively engaged in developing the next generation of construction managers and tradespeople. The AGC MA Workforce Development Task Force has been meeting regularly to ensure that students, teachers, and administrators interested in commercial construction can easily identify vocational and educational pathways to careers in the industry.

We are aware that many of our members are also conducting their own workforce development efforts like recruiting from local high schools or engaging in community career fairs. We would like to help build off these efforts to ensure that your workforce efforts are sustained.

Therefore, we are asking every company to please complete this Workforce Development Census. The survey will catalog at a high level our members efforts to develop the next workforce from colleges, high schools, and the general public and we will use the results to identify common connections and assist your efforts.

Achieving 1+1=3 Results in Design and Construction Conversations

Why, What and How

Copyright 2022, William Ronco, Ph.D.

MEP PM: How did your conversation with that architect go? You know, the “great designer?”

Construction PM: Same as always. I told her, her RFIs are unclear and unacceptable.

MEP PM: How did she react?

Construction PM: Same as always. First, she got offended, but I stayed the course, laid it on a little thick about how inspiring her designs are, and I finally wore her down. She gave in and said she’d try.

MEP PM: Do you really think she’ll change?

Construction PM: (Brief pause)… Probably not.

Safety Services Available

Safety is everyone's business! When something happens on a job site, it affects not only the individual but also every member of the building team—the building owner/developer, architect, subcontractors, and contractor alike.

Create a culture of safety in your company operations. It is an investment in the future of your firm and your employees. It can create healthier, more productive workers, decrease the likelihood of OSHA fines and costly litigation, and cut down on time loss and employee absences on your site.

Need help in developing a safe work environment or need some safety advice? Contact Chris Ziegler, Director of Safety.

AGC MA has regularly scheduled training programs and can tailor training to fit your firm's particular needs.Learn more on the AGC MA Safety Website.

Other safety services available:

  • OSHA 10 and 30 Hour Trainings
  • Lunch and learns focusing on Silica, Fall Protection, Trenching, Scaffolding and Electrical
