National Philanthropy Day 2021
Each year, National Philanthropy Day (NPD) on Vancouver Island provides an opportunity to gather to celebrate the generosity of our community and learn new skills to apply to the philanthropic sector. In the past, we have shared in our celebration and professional development through three events: the National Philanthropy Day Awards Ceremony, Masterclass, and Youth Session.

We have adapted National Philanthropy Day 2021 to provide the Vancouver Island community with an opportunity to highlight outstanding acts of philanthropy, learn from one another, and celebrate together during these uncertain times, while protecting the health and safety of everyone.

Tanya Smith
Manager, Social Purpose Ecosystem at Coast Capital

Coast Capital has deep roots on Vancouver Island going back to the 1940’s and has been a proud partner of National Philanthropy Day (NPD) since 2013. While Coast originally became involved to recognize the incredible work in our communities through the awards portion of the event, over the last few years NPD has grown to create the space for elevated conversations around what it means to inspire giving and contribute to broader societal change. As we all work collectively to support our communities in meaningful ways, investing in the non-profit sector is vital. National Philanthropy Day is one of those rare opportunities where people of all ages come together in gratitude and look ahead to the important work we can all do together.
