30th Anniversary Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea Concert
The Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert is Cape Cod's single largest cultural event. For each of the past twenty-nine years we have welcomed one of the nation's finest and best-loved musical ensembles - the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra - to the Hyannis Village Green.
This fundraising concert regularly sells out to a live audience of over 15,000 - the Cape's largest single audience. Cape Cod residents and visitors from throughout the United States and abroad gather for the afternoon's entertainment. Together they sit at VIP tables, festival seating or on the lawn and enjoy this magical afternoon event, one which benefits art and culture on Cape Cod all year long.
Proceeds from this concert enable the Arts Foundation to fulfill its mission to support, promote, and celebrate the arts and culture of Cape Cod year-round. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod provides artistic, cultural, and educational programs, such as the Passport to the Arts, a collaborative marketing program that introduces new audiences to the cultural treasures on Cape Cod at a reduced price, and our grants program, which supports those who create, foster, and promote art and culture in our community.

Artist Statement
"I'm not your average photographer. I'm a healthcare professional by training, and though I chose healthcare as my profession, my personal passion is and always has been, photography. I fell in love with the medium around the age of 12 when I received a Polaroid Land camera as a gift, and I've been committed to the medium since then.
In the year 2000, I began to use an antique method of printing my photographs called cyanotype. Cyanotype printing, similar to contact printing, relies on sunlight to create a blue or tea-toned image. This form of photography, considered the first photographic method, was discovered in the 1840's.
More recently, a new form of photography called iPhonography has emerged and has captured my interest. Since it first appeared in 2007 iPhonography or "mobile art" has become a global phenomenon in a variety of settings such as Facebook, galleries, workshops and websites. Exhibits and competitions are popping up everywhere. iPhonography is an exciting and creative process, that I've started offering introductory classes, a two and a half hour workshop called Introduction to iPhonography- photographic tips & apps.
By using these two photographic methods that span over 150 years, I look for ways to capture a mood that I hope takes the viewer to a reflective place of beauty and quiet mystery."
Rebecca's iPhonography images were accepted into the After Hopper at Addison Art Gallery in Orleans and can be seen at www.addisonart.com and click on After Hopper Events.
Her Cyanotype prints are represented by the Cortile Gallery in Provincetown and can be seen at www.cortilegallery.com

Calling All Performance Artists and Musicians!
Organizers of
Wellfleet
the OysterFest have recognized the limited number of performance opportunities at the 'Fest compared to the significant amount of talent in our community. It is for this reason that the Entertainment Selection Committee has developed a new performance opportunity this year by adding a Street Performer or Busker category. These additional performance slots will be located throughout the event site and are intended to enliven the 'Fest while providing artists a chance to be appreciated by the festival's 25,000 attendees!
The 15th annual Wellfleet OysterFest will be held on October 17 & 18, 2015 from 10am until 5pm, rain or shine. There is no fee to participate as a Busker, donations may be collected and no merchandise may be sold. This is also an opportunity to be heard by the OysterFest Entertainment Selection Committee and perhaps the first step toward a Main Stage time slot!
Here is a
link to the application that contains all the information that you will need. Feel free to share it with your performer friends. It will also be posted on the home page our website shortly.
Busker Applications are due by July 31, 2015. Notifications and the performance schedule will be sent out two weeks after the deadline.
