Continuing professional education at AEI encourages dialogue, discussion, and debate, both formally within the sessions and informally.
The AEI Education committee seeks innovative sessions that not only speak to industry issues, but also provide relevant solutions to emerging issues. Speakers should offer real-world examples, case studies, "war stories", successes and challenges. Sessions can be designed to encourage interactive audience participation by including small group discussions, and other activities to interject energy and promote dialogue. AEI is not looking for lectures, but rather innovative and engaging sessions. The learning objectives for AEI sessions should reflect knowledge that attendees can benefit from after attending AEI.
Speakers should provide additional resources such as relevant articles, tools, guides, and other information that extends the learning beyonf the session and adds value to the event. Presentation materials including additional resources are subject to quality review by the AEI education committee and must be ready in their final form approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. Please carefully consider, if selected as a speaker, whether you would be able to meet all scheduled speaker deadlines.
Applications from a team or a panel are also encouraged in order to share multiple perspectives on a topic. Speakers should consider how presentation content supports AEI, AMOA and AAMA knowledge objectives.
Proposals will be reviewed by the AEI education committee representing subject matter experts from both AMOA and AAMA. During this process, the committee vet's potential speakers, not the speaker's company or organization.
Applications will be evaluated in whole or in part of the following criteria:
- Topic is timely for the industry today and will attract attendees
- Title of the session demonstrates the intent concisely
- Subject matter is cutting-edge or presents new ideas, presented in a creative and engaging way
- Learning objectives and learning level are well-defined and support each other
- Attendees will be able to relate to the content and apply what they've learned in their roles
- Potential for audience interactive participation
- Context of the issues including real-world examples and stories
- Speaker presentation skills and experience
- The speaker is knowledgeable, engaging and experienced on the topic submitted
