West Virginia Botanic Garden Morgantown, WV

PROJECT SCOPE:

· A New, single-story, 5,820 sq. ft. event building which includes a basement in Cheat Lake, WV.

· The building consists of a dining area, buffet, flex space, office, restrooms, kitchen, and storage room.

· The structure of the building is composed of steel framing to support exposed timber framing. There are large open areas and long span areas due to glass curtain walls.

· This project was a high complexity project involving structural design and analysis.

Mountaintop Beverage Company

Morgantown, WV

Mountaintop Beverage plans full operations by late ’22 in Morgantown Industrial Park

A New 249,000 Sq. Ft Manufacturing Facility located at 6000 Rail Street in Morgantown, WV.

ADS work consists of the structural design of the project and is serving as the Structural Engineer of Record.

ADS is very excited about being a part of this Manufacturing project that will bring so much to our state. The new 249,000 SF Facility will employ close to 100 and will grow from there. The state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing facility is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year and then employ about 300.The plant will be an aseptic packaging plant with ultra-pasteurization that extends dairy shelf-life without refrigeration.

"Fun Fact:" Aseptic packaging consists of filling and sealing a sterilized packaging material with a sterilized product. Aseptic packaging material not only has to assure sterile conditions within the package and protect the product from physical damage, but also maintain the quality of the product inside the packaging.

PROJECT SCOPE:

A New, two-story, 2,200 SF Clear Mountain Bank Building.

Project consists of closed offices, open office area, open banking transaction area, conference room, safe deposit area, support spaces, two bathrooms, break room, janitor closet, and a (3) lane drive-thru.

Benedum Airport Aircraft Hangars A & B

Bridgeport, WV

Allegheny Design Services experience in Aviation projects has grown as of late. We have been teaming up with Aurora Flight Sciences, Bombardier Aerospace, MHI RJ, as well as a project for St. Lucie MRO Hanger in St. Lucie, FL some years back. A few of the latest projects that we are proud to be a part of are right here in West Virginia.

The Benedum Airport Aircraft Hangars project consisted of 2 Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings.

ADS was responsible for foundation and slab design. The buildings had a clear span over 275 feet, which led to substantial foundation sizes. The slab was designed to support a 737 airplane.

Ski Patrol @ Your Service

Brady is ready for some

Winter Fun!

This winter, Brady will begin his 10^th year as a volunteer ski patroller at Blue Knob All Seasons Resort in Claysburg, PA.

The Highest Skiable Mountain in PA!

He is a certified toboggan handler, certified snowmobile driver, and is the non-local representative on the executive board.

As a representative, he oversees fundraising efforts for the ski patrol.

A typical day on duty for him includes opening the mountain, putting in required fences and other safety measures to prepare the mountain for the public.

After opening, he is responsible for providing first aid and transportation to injured patrons. While not tending to injured skiers or performing odd jobs around the mountain, he gets to enjoys the slopes with family and friends.

The work can be stressful, but it is always rewarding helping those in need. It is said that engineering at its core is to improve the world by designing economically, safe structures for people. He is proud to continue that service on the weekends by providing preventative measures and first aid to those who need it at Blue Knob.

Our VP, Jason Robinson participated in the West Virginia Spartan Trifecta Event Weekend @ Summit Bechtel Reserve, Glen Jean, WV, on 27 August 2022.

Spartan Beast is a half marathon, 30 obstacle race engineered to push you out of your comfort zone and right up to your limits. Competitors race through rugged, unpredictable terrain around the world as they tackle each of our signature obstacles. The Beast is a Spartan Trifecta eligible event.
