As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this August, we’re excited to present our latest blog, The Unbreakable Bond of Art, Advocacy, and Action: The Journey of ADAO. This month, we highlight the vital role of artistic contributions in our fight to ban asbestos and explore how creativity can be a powerful tool in our advocacy efforts. Discover how art and artists have been instrumental in raising awareness and driving our mission forward.
We are thrilled to invite you to the 20th Anniversary Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference (AAPC), themed "Exploring the Intersection of Asbestos Prevention, Policy, and the Law." This annual event brings together nearly 30 world-renowned experts to discuss the latest information about preventing and treating all asbestos-caused diseases. The conference will be held on September 14, 2024, at the Marriott Crystal City at Reagan National Airport, Washington, DC.
We are also excited to unveil our 2024 poster, designed by the renowned photographer Earl Dotter. Titled "BADGES OF PAIN || VOICES FOR CHANGE," this poster powerfully represents our ongoing fight against asbestos-related diseases and our relentless push for prevention and policy reform.
The event will culminate in a Gala Awards Dinner to celebrate the ADAO community’s two decades of advocacy and action to protect the public from asbestos and end asbestos-caused diseases. ADAO spokesperson and musician Jordan Zevon will perform.
As we look towards the rest of the summer, save the date for our conference and the 2024 Alton Miles for Meso race and fundraiser on Saturday, September 21, in honor of Mesothelioma Awareness Day. This year’s race is the 16th year sponsored by Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP, with proceeds generously supporting ADAO. This annual event is one of the highlights of our Mesothelioma Warrior community, so be sure to join us! Join the ADAO Ban Asbestos Now Team today.
We are the change we wish to see. Together, we can make a difference.
