The VAF recently received a donation in honor of Max (pictured above) who had retinal reattachment surgery at Eye Care for Animals.  Thank you to all who contribute in honor and in memory of pets via our Pet Letter Program!

Dear Colleagues,

Since 2002, the VAF's Resident Grant Program has awarded 57 grants for a total of $274,434.  It is a great honor to announce the four grant recipients for 2014.  We are so grateful for your support, which allows the VAF to fund their research efforts.

This year, in addition to the VAF Resident Grants, the organization will make our first large funding award.  We have budgeted $30,000 to fund research on SARDS.  The RFP for this program will be issued in May and we anticipate announcing a decision at the ACVO Conference in October.

I am very excited to share that this year the VAF's 2nd Annual Cocktail Party & Auction will take place aboard a charter cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene!

Event Chair Dr. Nancy McLean and her talented committee (Drs. Stacy Andrew, Susan Nelms, Jamie Schorling, Rachel Vaughan ... and me!) are working to recruit sponsors and secure auction items.  If you would like to donate, please let us know!

I hope you will join us for this event!  To purchase tickets

Sincerely,
