FDOTConnect Virtual Training Lab: Traffic Plans (Signing, Pavement Markings & Lighting)

This i2-day training course reviews the fundamentals for developing Traffic Plans. Participants will be introduced to Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD)CONNECT Edition – FDOT Traffic Tools developed for OpenRoads Technology specifically for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects using the FDOTCONNECT Workspace.


This training lab will be utilizing the 2024 FDOT Traffic Plans Course Guide.

Q1 2024 Engineering Business Sentiment Shows Continued Industry Optimism

The ACEC Research Institute released its Engineering Business Sentiment Report for the first quarter of 2024. Institute Senior Researcher Joe Bates and ACEC Senior Director of Economics and Private Markets Thomas Grogan shared the Report’s findings in a comprehensive online class.

Hires, Promotions & Other Firm News

McRory joins Hanson’s Orlando regional office


Steven McRory, P.E., project manager, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Orlando regional office. He will manage power industry projects to meet client expectations regarding the scope, financial performance, schedule, quality, communications, risk management and the health and safety of the project staff.


McRory previously was a program manager of major campaigns for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Orlando. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural and geotechnical engineering, both from the University of Central Florida, and is a licensed professional engineer in Florida.

Harder joins Hanson’s Orlando regional office


Kevin Harder, P.E., LEED AP®, senior project manager, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Orlando regional office. He will perform project and program management as well as overall site, land and project development for industrial projects.


Harder previously was a director of engineering for a construction engineering firm in Lake Mary. He received an associate degree in science from the College of Lake County and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states, including Florida, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional (LEED AP®).
