CTC Global Participates at Annual NASEO Meeting
The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) 2022 Annual Meeting was held in-person October 11-14, 2022 in St. Petersburg, Florida. At this year’s event the focus was on "State Clean Energy Partnerships for Resilience, Affordability, and Growth." State Energy Offices and their private sector partners are poised for action in deploying innovative clean energy solutions across America’s infrastructure.
At a General Session address, “Grid Modernization, Resilience, and Reliability: Making Electricity Sustainable and Affordable,” Maria Robinson, Director of the DOE Grid Deployment Office, discussed the challenges of rapidly decarbonizing the grid given the long transmission construction cycles for new build and re-build solutions. She mentioned “Reconductoring with Advanced Conductors” multiple times as one way to get more capacity for interconnecting clean and renewable generation “almost instantaneously,” to assist with grid decarbonization.
CTC Global's Director of Public Policy, Mr. David Townley, was on hand to answer questions between sessions and noted that "NASEO meetings offer tremendous opportunity for State Officials to get up to speed on important issues and learn from others what actions are being taken to meet state and national policy goals.”
Earlier this year a NASEO Board of Directors Resolution on Electric Grid Modernization and Comprehensive Electricity Planning suggested that State Energy Officers “leverage U.S. Department of Energy identified strategies, which includes measures such as reconductoring of power lines with low-sag, low-resistance, high-performance efficient, cost-effective advanced conductors.” Here is a link to the Resolution

More Great Sessions at Grid Forward's Annual Meeting in Denver
CTC Global's Director Strategic Accounts, Mr. Jeff Townsend participated in the Grid Forward Annual Meeting in Denver Colorado earlier this month. The meeting's focus “Ensuring a Resilient 21st Century Energy System,” brought together a wide range of energy leaders to explore and advance federal resources and regional developments to harden the grid from disruptions and facilitate a smooth energy transition.
"The past couple years have been unprecedented for the electric grid: from historic and devastating wildfires, record heat levels, ice storms and much more. The federal commitment to advanced grid deployments has reached a new level with the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act." The aim of the meeting was to discuss ways to use federal investment for the greatest impact for all segments of society.
Mr. Townsend was on hand to share information about how CTC Global's ACCC® Conductor is helping U.S. Utilities reach these objectives.
