Dear Eric,
I'm returning from Kenya after almost two weeks with four inspiring students from our Saruk leadership program. It has been remarkable to witness their growing awareness of the world's needs. Even more inspiring is seeing how well the Better World projects are thriving, particularly in how the local communities have taken ownership of the investments we've made.
In Ndanai, I observed the water well generating income to maintain their facilities. The site was incredibly beautiful and spotless. In two other schools, the students were performing well above average academically, due to the improved facilities.
In the Maasai Mara, Naikarra Comprehensive now accommodates 1,856 students. At another school, where the student population was 280 just two years ago, there are now 350 students with two dormitories and new classrooms. Additionally, the government partnership has been commendable. They have provided water, power, and staff housing to ensure that teachers have comfortable accommodations, especially in the remote communities we support.
All this progress is a direct result of the generosity from our community and our supporters in Canada. Thank you for believing that together, we can make a difference by empowering those in need to help themselves.
