It is bittersweet that the ABC family announces the retirement of our beloved nurse, Joy Mugimu.
Joy's story is special and truly inspiring. While many know Joy as a nurse, you may be surprised to learn that she started out as a caregiver with ABC many years ago and then furthered her education to become the incredible, caring medical professional she is today.
There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Joy is as both a nurse and a person. She made such a positive impact on the lives of our clients and, for that, we are forever grateful. She will surely be missed and ABC Home Healthcare Professionals thanks her for all of her years of dedicated and loyal service!

We believe every day should be dedicated to honoring caregivers- whether these caregivers are family members or professional caregivers like the Home Health Aides and Homemakers at ABC!
This week is Home Care Aide Week and we want to give a special shout out to our amazing aides that help to keep seniors living safely and independently in their own homes. As many who are family caregivers know, caring for someone is not an easy job but it is a very rewarding one and that is why our aides work as hard as they do!
In addition, to Home Health Aides & Homemakers, nurses, therapists and social workers also play a significant role in the overall health & wellness of our seniors so it is during November and every month that follows that we thank you, praise you and support you!

But what about pumpkin? If you're looking to make a statement this holiday season, try this Pumpkin Crumble recipe and watch as it quickly becomes the new fan-favorite!
For this dessert, you will need the following:
- 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp fine salt
- 1 stick (8 tbsp) unsalted butter
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 15oz cans of pure pumpkin puree
- 2 cups half & half
- 2 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 3 large eggs
- Whipped cream, for serving
