| August Treasure Talk 2024! | |
Our US Library of Congress Research Guide tells us that Labor Day, which is in a couple of days, "is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers."
The Guide referred to paid workers; however, the work you do every day is also of great value and deserves special recognition!
We at AACY support and recognize you for your selfless Labors of Love for the ones in your care.

| Activities Recap & Preview:

Greetings, CYP Friends!
Our activity highlights for the month include the Knowledge and Know-How Nutrition Workshop through our Men Giving Back grant. It was held at the Embassy Suites Boca Raton, where you learned about healthier ways to cook and prepare meals by Diniz Kilic from Eat Better Live Better. To top it off, you all received free Air Fryers and a customized AACY towel. So cool! We ended the day at the hotel pool. The rainy weather couldn't stop our fun 😊!
We continued the month with a virtual game of Family Feud. How fun it was to see you all answer the questions!
We ended the week with a very informative and engaging mental health workshop where Mental Health Clinician Reuben C. Holliman, Jr. gave some tips on managing stress and anxiety as Caregiving Youth and in school.
We ended the month with Medical Trivia Night, where FAU Medical Intern Rita Channagiri and Haley Park shared resourceful information on careers in the medical field and finished with a fun trivia game. You all know your stuff 😊!
I hope you all had a great start back to school and a smooth transition.
Keep looking out for upcoming activities! If you want to see some pictures of you and your events, visit (and follow!) our Instagram @caregivingyouthproject.
Thank you.

Sending a huge thank you to Boca Helping Hands and our sponsors, Lee Pearson Steinberg Foundation and Gary Peters Family Foundation, for extending an invite to our youth. The youth enjoyed bowling, food, arcade time, and raffle prizes.

| Manipura Care Network 2024 Art Week | |
This summer, some lucky Caregiving Youth got to go on a super cool art adventure! Thanks to Manipura Care Network, we had a whole week of field trips and art classes that were just for us.
We explored amazing places like the YoungArts Campus, the Perez Art Museum Miami, and the Norton Museum of Art. We even got to ride on the Brightline train! It was so much fun!
Being a caregiver can be really tough. Sometimes, we feel like we have enough time for ourselves. This art week was the perfect way to take a break and have some fun. It helped us feel refreshed and ready to face whatever comes our way.

| Introducing Madeline Grace Asbell, Royal International Miss Role Model Jr Teen | |
A Champion for Caregiving Youth in Austin, TX | |
Ever wondered how one person can make a real difference in their community? Meet Madeline Grace Asbell, a remarkable young advocate and former Caregiving Youth who has shown us all the power of a single voice.
Madeline, a 15-year-old Miss Texas Role Model Junior Teen, recently took on the challenge of advocating for Caregiving Youth in her community. She presented a resolution to the Austin City Council, urging them to invest in programs that offer educational support, counseling services, and respite care for young people who are caring for family members.
Her powerful speech highlighted the struggles faced by many Caregiving Youth, like James, who had to drop out of school to provide care for his mother. Madeline's passionate plea resonated with the council members, and they unanimously passed the resolution!
Madeline's story is a testament to the impact that even one person can have. Her dedication and perseverance have made a real difference in the lives of countless Caregiving Youth in Austin. As young Caregiving Youth, we can all learn from Madeline's example and find ways to advocate for ourselves and our peers!
