HOT BREAKFASTS SERVED TO HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES

Mattie Rhodes Center's Annual Holiday Breakfast was held on Saturday, December 19, 2020 serving almost 300 children and parents with a free hot breakfast, free toys, art activity kits and soccer kits.

Santa & Mrs. Claus greeted each car while volunteers and staff helped load up the goodies. Children were invited to safely exit their vehicle to pick out a toy of their choosing.

This event would not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Country Financial, Uriarte Insurance, and Hyvee. Thank you all for bringing joy to our families!

DONATIONS OF OVER $157,000 PROVIDE FOOD, RENT AND UTILITIES ASSISTANCE DURING COVID CRISIS

With the generosity of individuals as well as public and private donors, Mattie Rhodes Center distributed over $157,000 in rent, food and utility assistance to families during the pandemic. We are looking forward to building on the support our community partners have so generously given us, including Bank of America, SchoolSmart KC, Commerce Bank, and CARES Act funding Jackson County, MO and Clay County, MO.
CHRISTMAS COMES TO 23 LOCAL FAMILIES

Since the pandemic hit, MRC has witnessed countless parents in KCMO’s Historic Northeast & Westside who’ve lost their jobs, had decreased work hours, and experienced food insecurity and need winter clothing for their children.

MRC thanks the generous organizations and their kindhearted employees who adopted families in need in 2020 including VMLYR, La CASA ERG group at Children's Mercy Hospital, Commerce Bank Foundation, Bank of America Foundation and MRC staff member, Maria Escudero.

This year, we were so pleased to make sure these deserving families had winter clothing and gifts under the tree during such difficult times. Thank you to all the employees who volunteer their time to give to our participant families!

70 FAMILIES SURPRISED WITH FREE HOLIDAY
HAM DINNERS

Mattie Rhodes Center provided pre-prepared family meals last week for the Christmas holiday including ham or turkey, two sides, rolls and a pie. A big thanks to Hyvee for helping prepare and deliver delicious meals to our families in need!

We also appreciate the support of the staff and volunteers who helped unload and deliver all the meals! Everyone should be able to celebrate the holiday season in a special way, and we hope this brought some light and happiness to our local families this year.
