We hear you!
We understand your frustration and the challenges Beryl has brought to our town. The City's primary focus has always been the safety and well-being of our residents. Our efforts have been focused on ensuring your essential services provided by the City remained operational: running water (some cities weren't as fortunate), sewer, clearing trees and debris from our roadways and city facilities, sharing vital information to ensure all members of our community had resources they need, immediately mobilizing our emergency response team, some of which are still working around the clock and continuing to work diligently on many other recovery efforts.
We've been focusing our efforts on what we can control, but we know your biggest concerns are about what we can't control. We understand the frustration and inconvenience caused by the ongoing power outage. Please know that the City does not manage electrical utility services, and therefore, we're unable to restore power or provide estimated restoration times. CenterPoint Energy is responsible for these services. They are facing an unprecedented challenge, with 2.6 million customers affected—the highest number ever at one time. They are working tirelessly 24/7 to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
