Dear Germantown Branch Families,
Greetings! I hope everyone had a restful summer and is re-charged for what I know will be an electrifying school year. The 23-24 season at the Germantown Branch will be full of excitement. This Fall, we will be spotlighting the Branch’s Playformance Park with a concert series featuring some of Settlement’s own faculty and alumni including Andy Thierauf (solo percussion, 6:30pm) and Zach Poyatt (solo guitar, 7:15pm) on 9/19, and the Kendrah Butler-Waters Quartet on 10/2 (7pm). These performances are free and open to the public.
In addition to inviting the community into the branch, we will also be taking Settlement out “on the road” to the Mt. Airy Arts Festival on September 9 as well as the Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival on October 8, where you will find us sharing with the community what wonderful programs the school has to offer.
While it is usually Spring that is viewed as a time of regeneration and rejuvenation, I believe the beginning of the school year is also a time of awakening and that the red, yellow, and orange Fall foliage does not signal a time of slumber in anticipation of the Winter to come, but rather that things are heating up and coming back to life! We look forward to seeing you at the branch this September and out in the community. Please stop by and say hello!
Regards,
Kris Rudzinski, Germantown Branch Director
