A Year of Growth and Celebration
It's been almost one full year since the
Women's
Centre moved into a beautiful new space on 4th Street, and we'd like to share our success stories with you!
Want a sneak peek of how we did? Despite being closed for over a month, our contacts grew by seven percent in 2014! Women accessed services, built connections and worked for change at the Centre 184 times every day. Women emailed or called over 80 times a day. Please join us for our Annual General Meeting and hear more about what women are up to in your community.
April 29th, 5:30-7pm
Donations of personal care items for women will be gratefully accepted. Everyone is welcome. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP by April 22 by contacting Marie at marie@womenscentrecalgary.org or 403-264-1155.

International Women's Day 2015 was a blast!
We would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time and their kitchens to make the potluck a success. People filled the Kerby Centre to recognize inpirational women in our community and around the world.

Girl Power in Spring!
Last week, we successfully ran our first Spring Break Girl Power Camp! Eleven girls between the ages of 10-12 participated in workshops on gender and identity, body image, healthy relationships and activism. Several awesome volunteers also led freestyle hip hop, zumba and zine-making sessions. Finally, for the first time we ran a living library with three engaging "books" - women from the community with cool stories to share. It was a hit! Thanks to the girls for attending, and thank you to all who helped out! |
