To our customers, stakeholders, and the community,

I am pleased to share our annual report for FY 2022: A Year of Community Investment.

This annual report provides updates on the investments we have made in the past year to continue improving your experiences as a customer and stakeholder. This includes making the development and permitting processes more accessible and efficient, while also reducing or eliminating many fees and taking on new responsibilities. We have worked closely with many of you to support more affordable housing, ever-growing popular events, ongoing commercial development, and important public projects that will enhance the future of our growing city. And, we have achieved this with a refined focus on equity. 

I hope you enjoy reading about the work we have achieved together in FY 2022. As I prepare to retire from the City of Austin at the end of this month, I am grateful to all of you for engaging with us and providing thoughtful and candid feedback. You have helped us focus our resources on the services that matter most to you, our customers and stakeholders.  

The Development Services Department is now positioned to continue building on these improvements and successes. I look forward to seeing the city you will build together in the years to come.
