Grant Awards Help the Division of Energy and Environment Do More For the Community


D.E.E. staff have leveraged county funds to secure $4,075,003 in state and federal grant funding since 2021. This has fueled the growth of our work, allowing us to connect with more individuals in need, expand our stream restoration and reforestation efforts, and bring smart energy solutions to the community.

Join the Frederick County Master Gardeners and learn how to manage yard and garden pests with ecosystem-based methods to minimize the use of pesticides.


Learn how to identify, prevent, and manage plant and insect problems using biological control, habitat changes, and cultural habits. Spray less and enjoy gardening more, plus help protect our watershed!

Come decorate and personalize your very own "trash grabber" to keep, then use it to help clean Utica Park!


Litter doesn't stay local! Join us in the ongoing effort to protect the health of the Chesapeake Bay by removing trash from trails and streams. Keeping parks clean makes them more beautiful for visitors and helps protect wildlife habitats too.


Nitrile gloves, trash bags, and a limited number of trash grabbers will be provided. Registration is required to ensure enough supplies are available. Visit our website for more info on signing up!
