A Special Call to Centering Prayer

Tuesday, October 27, 2020, 8:00 p.m.
Nothing can hurt you if you can understand that whatever you are going through is your invitation to participate in the redemption of the world. That’s why we say that Centering Prayer...is a journey in which you take everyone with you — friends, enemies, relationships — and everybody benefits from your experience. Fr. Thomas Keating, from Who Is God?

In this universal time of sickness, civic discord and dire need, feeling powerless is especially hard to bear. Yet as people on a contemplative path, we know that meeting God in silence does more than refresh us. It is our salvation. And as Thomas often said: Silent prayer as a community holds transformative power.

Contemplative Outreach of Maryland and Washington invites you to join in their special, community Centering Prayer on Tuesday, October 27 at 8 p.m. EDT. Our format is simple — an opening prayer, centering for a half-hour, then the Lord’s Prayer. Below is the Zoom coordinate for this simple session.
