2022 Broadley Pinot Noir

Willamette Valley, Oregon

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pouring a pale ruby color, this translucent Pinot Noir looks, smells and tastes like a young Burgundy. With plenty of charming fruit yumminess to balance its earth and lifted freshness, it’s a wine that changes and opens with exposure to air - a quality we love to find in a Pinot Noir - to reveal dark cherry, floral, citrus tea and herbal savoriness.
Morgan Broadley sources the fruit from several of his own estate vineyards along with grapes purchased from the nearby Sunny Mountain Vineyard. He makes the wine naturally, using wild yeasts, and raises it in large neutral French oak barrels for nine months.
This is a perfect go-to Pinot. We are a solid 90 Points. Here are the 93-Point and 90-Point reviews from Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator...
"This balanced wine has to be one of the Willamette Valley's best Pinot Noir values. Aromas of red cherries, dried rose petals and a trace of aged balsamic vinegar are an almost perfect perfume. A flawless mix of citrus acidity and silky tannins support flavors like blackberry, thyme and a wisp of Assam tea. Editors' Choice."
          - 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast (3/1/2024)
"Generous and precise, with straightforward raspberry, black tea and forest floor accents that finish with zesty tannins. Drink now through 2031. 3,100 cases made."
          - 90 Points, Wine Spectator (2/26/2024)
We love that the Broadley family has kept the price of this multi-vineyard bottling so reasonable. There is a HUGE amount of value here!
Delicious Oregon Chardonnay from the Stoller Family!
2022 Stoller Family Estate Chardonnay
Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Like Broadley, Stoller is a long established Oregon family producer. Today we’re featuring their wonderful estate grown Chardonnay from the Dundee Hills subregion.

Made from a range of Dijon clones, this impressive white is a perfect melding of old and new world styles. It is fruit forward with a little oak, plenty of mineral zip and a food-friendly zinging structure. We’ve tasted other Chardonnays made in this style, but very few do it as well, and virtually none at twenty bucks!

Boasting ripe orchard and citrus flavors along with a hint of sweet vanilla, this wine will find friends with White Burgundy and Russian River Chard loyalists alike. We’re a solid 90+ Points. Here are the 92-Point and 91-Point reviews from Wine Spectator and Decanter…

"This pretty white is graceful yet rich, with floral lemon, Anjou pear and toasty spice flavors that linger on the plush finish. Drink now."

          - 92 Points, Wine Spectator (2/29/2024)

"A lean Dundee Hills Chardonnay is done with a combination of oak, steel and concrete fermentation. Aromatics of lemon zest, along with wet stone, apple blossom and cut peach, lead to a fresh and lively palate. Flavours of lemon creme, wet stone and Kaffir lime, this is a lean and zesty Chardonnay, perhaps a marker of the cooler, longer growing season. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2028."

          - 91 Points, Decanter (3/31/2023)

Wine Spectator quotes $25 for this classic Chardonnay.
