CultureLink News

November 2022

Everyone longs to have a safe space where they can feel seen and heard. Having someone that has gone through a similar journey, who can show us the possibilities we were not aware of, can help us feel less alone. Be it a mentor or a settlement worker, a good and resourceful ear with a positive attitude can go a long way to inspire and give hope to youth and newcomers alike.

Visual Storytelling for Youth

Resilience: Healing Through Photography was the title of this project, hosted by our E3 Youth program.

Participants learnt to use their mobile devices to capture their surroundings. They used music to translate their feelings. They used trees of life to draw their sense of identity and to imagine their future. To read the full report, please visit Resilience 2022

CultureLink's E3 (Educate, Empower, Elevate) Youth Program's goal is to reduce the number of young people involved in violence in the Central Etobicoke community.

We match vulnerable youth with adult and peer mentors who provide support and connections to resources and opportunities based on their interests, and we help youth set and strengthen their employment and career goals for the future.

Come Visit Us!

We are excited to see clients in person again, not only at our Main Office and Children & Youth Centre, but at Community Spaces where, thanks to our partners, we also have a space to provide settlement services and information for newcomers.

A CultureLink Settlement Worker can provide information and referrals to community/government services for health care, legal issues, housing, employment, education, translation and language training; or help you with applications and documentation.
