Winter 2021
A New Year Filled with HOPE!
A New Year is a time for reflection.

After all of the stress of 2020, many of us are simply wishing for a bit of calm in 2021. We asked some of our friends and colleagues to share their hopes for the new year.

Here are a few:
Rilwan Feyisitan, Jr., Executive Director, Community Action Partnership of Providence County

My hopes and dreams are to safely travel again, domestically and internationally. Our strength as a nation is in our diversity and celebration of cultures. My current favorite quote is "if you have more than you need, don't build higher walls to keep others from it - build longer tables and invite more to share in your abundance."
Juan Lantigua, Owner, The Family Cake Company

My hope is that small businesses are able to navigate through the rest of the pandemic safely. This past year has been devastating for so many businesses. I hope that with the rollout of vaccines, we can continue to lift restrictions on businesses and get people back to work.
Antonio Rodriguez, Assistant Director of Asset Management

My greatest hope for 2021 is that we continue to practice and lean into our compassion for our neighbors, community, and ourselves. Our growth during the pandemic has been extraordinary. I'm excited to work with kind, passionate, courageous individuals who seek to develop affordable housing and engage neighbors across Greater Providence to cultivate healthy, vibrant, and safe communities.
Lorraine Lalli, Treasurer, ONE|NB Board of Directors

The pandemic has brought so much inequity in our society to the surface - the people hit the hardest by COVID-19 were those already struggling to get by. My hope for 2021 is that we can make tangible and sustainable progress in addressing the root causes of economic, educational, and health disparities. I’m incredibly excited about the work we are doing at ONE Neighborhood Builders to address historic inequities, like the Central Providence Opportunities Initiative, our free Community Wi-Fi, and of course, building quality homes that working families can afford.”

Meeting Residents "Where They're At"...ONE|NB Brings Healthcare into the Community
We are thrilled to unveil our new mobile healthcare trailer, which will enable us to bring healthcare services - and more - to members of the community!

Almost 30% of Olneyville residents do not own vehicles, and mobile health services are a great way to connect with under-served populations. While the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for increasing access to healthcare, the trailer can be used for a host of purposes: health fairs, flu shot clinics, and even community meetings. In fact, it's available for community use; message Laurie Moise Sears to learn more.

Presentation to the MA Health Equity Task Force
Executive Director, Jen Hawkins, was recently invited to present (virtually) before the Massachusetts Health Equity Task Force, where she shared information about ONE|NB Connects: Community WiFi, as well as the Central Providence Health Equity Zone.

The MA Health Equity Task Force is headed by co-chairs Dr. Assaad Sayah, Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Health Alliance, and Michael Curry, Esq., President and CEO of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and former head of the Boston branch of the NAACP.

The Task Force works to address health disparities for under-served or underrepresented populations. This meeting's agenda focused on telehealth, health equity, and the digital divide. You can watch the meeting in its entirety here.
