Join us for the Annual Meeting

Brothers and sisters, my last official act at St. Francis will be the Annual Meeting on Sunday January 29 following our 10:00 a.m. service. We will enjoy a meal together and hear reports from your parish leadership on all that we have accomplished over the past year. Moreover, this will my last opportunity to address you as your priest.

I feel a bit like Moses on the verge of the promised land. I can see it, but I will not enter it. Moses led the children of Israel for 40 years through the wilderness. I have, to the best of my ability and by the grace of God, led you through the last two years of pastoral transition and COVID. Now, a new day is beginning
at St. Francis. So, much as Moses encouraged the Israelites, I urge you:

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV).

Our New Rector - The Reverend Jason Shelby
Sunday February 5 will be his first time leading our worship.
Please welcome him!
Our new Rector will be on his way to us very soon. The Reverend Jason Shelby will be arriving from Mississippi, with his family, at the end of January. Just 4 weeks away!

His very first service at St. Francis will be on Sunday February 5.
We hope as many as possible will be there on that day to welcome the Shelby family, and start the process of getting to know each other.

In the meantime, please hold them in your prayers as they negotiate the challenges of a long distance move and transition to a new Parish.
Antique Show
This Sunday - January 22, 11:30am, Library
After several cancellations, we are planning our next Antiques show (our long running fundraiser). Come join us to hear our ideas, share your own or just find out what the Antiques show is.
Taizé - Service of Healing and Wholeness
Next Tuesday January 24, 7:00 p.m.
Join us in the Chapel for a peaceful time filled with music and candlelight. If you're not familiar with this tradition, the community of Taizé, in France, is the location of a teaching and contemplative retreat center that attracts thousands of believers from all over the world.

Our service of Wholeness and Healing emulates the style of the chant services at Taizé, with music from Taizé and other contemplative sources. We sing short phrases repeatedly to quiet our minds and hearts and open our souls to being in the presence of God. Join in as you wish. You also have the option for confidential prayer with a Prayer team leader. We pray that the time will be a healing comfort for whatever you face or hold in your heart.
