I was extremely honored to take over as the sixth dean of the Sawyer Business School at the end of this July. I’ve quickly learned that our alumni are accomplished, talented, and absolutely dedicated to our school, our mission, and our students. I hope that many of you will be able to attend the virtual Retirement Celebration for Bill O’Neill on October 21. (See details below.)
Some of the main goals I have for my first year as dean are as follows:
- Partner with various units on campus to ensure this school year goes as safely and smoothly as possible. Keeping our community healthy while helping our students focus on their learning during this turbulent time is vitally important.
- Continue to build on our many relationships with businesses and organizations in Boston and beyond so that students have as many experiential education opportunities available to them as possible. What they learn outside of class can be just as valuable as what they learn during class.
- Add to our robust lineup of academic offerings to ensure our students have the market-based skills they need to start successful careers. This fall, for example, we launched minors in FinTech and Cybersecurity.
Beyond that, I want to get to know everyone as well as I can as we navigate through this unprecedented time. One thing is for sure: I am thrilled to be a part of the Sawyer Business School and Suffolk University communities. This is an incredible institution, and I look forward to working with all of you on its continued success.
